Spain - general

Spain map

In excess of 45,000,000 tourists visit Spain every year, making it one of the most visited countries in the world. This alone is enough to secure a stable rental market whilst introducing a regular influx of investors, relocaters and holiday home purchasers.

Spain has an incredibly vibrant blend of history, culture and sun. Centuries of Arab rule produced some of the most stunning Moorish architecture in the world, such as the Alhambra Palace in Granada and Mezquita - the Cathedral and historic Mosque of Cordoba. Spain's warm climate and stunning beaches attract milions of tourists every year.

Spanish is the official language while other languages include Catalan, Basque and Galician. English is widely spoken in many of the tourist areas and generally used in business.
The climate is excellent all year round, but it can get hot in summer - around or sometimes in excess of 30C (86F) in the south. Winters are cool and very comfortable at around 5C (41F), with a little rain and snow in the mountains.

Fiestas & Carnivals

In January, the San Sebastián Drummers take to the streets for La Tamborrada.

In February carnivals throughout Spain - especially in Sitges, see 250,000 pour into the resort.

Carnival Sitges

Early in April, the Semana Santa (Holy Week) festivities happen throughout Spain.

In July, it is the famouse Pamplona Running of the Bulls.

On the last Wednesday in August at Buñol, Valencia La Tomatina, sees locals indulge in a friendly celebration.
