"After taking many holidays in Spain over the years and falling in love with the country (climate, people, relaxed way of life etc) I suspect like many other people, we dreamt of one day being able to live there. Although we have travelled extensively in Spain, deciding where to settle is not easy.

We had certain criteria, ie near the coast, access to a local golf coarse (or 2) and not in a particularly touristy area. Four years ago we were coming up to retirement and were in a position financially to maybe fulfil our dream. Knowing of the pitfalls of buying property in Spain, we decided that rather than muddle through on our own, we would seek professional and expert help...Enter Sean and The World Of Spain !

After meeting with him and discussing our requirements, within  a very short time, he came up with a detached villa in the Province of Almeria (north of the Costa del sol) which fitted the bill perfectly. Sean helped us with all the legal documentation and advised on the transfer of funds etc, (he even helped us find a removal company).

All this happened 4 years ago and we have been living the dream ever since, it is certainly the best move that we have ever made and we cant thank Sean and his company enough because without his help and encouragement, we might not have had the nerve to make the move.

- 2 children 6 & 8, purchase is for investment & holiday use

Personal objectives - Require 3 bed apartment, must have pool & other amenities nearby as well as recreational facilities for the 2 children.

Investment objectives - Must be good value for money with potential for rental & capital appreciation. Off plan with a suitable payment structure would be favourable.

Result - Purchased two apartments, a 3 bed and a 2 bed. The intention would be to keep the 3 bed as it meets the requirements for family use and is overlooking a great pool set in a tropical garden landscape. Golf, tennis, football, gymnasium and cycle paths are nearby with a good selection of shops, restaurants, banks etc within a 10 min walk.Pete & Vickey have a flexible outlook with the 2 bed. This could either be sold on completion or they could keep this for rental and further capital appreciation with a view to selling it after a few years and realising maximum return when the resort is mature.This development is `off plan` and so they will benefit from a 2 year period to spread the payments and in choosing to buy off plan they have effectively purchased at a discount.

A sound investment - The demand for this resort has been very high and because we were able to identify specific criteria at an early stage of the purchase process, we managed to secure Pete & Vickey an excellent opportunity. This particular development is only 2 floors high and we had the good fortune to locate and secure a 2 bed apartment directly above a 3 bed. This is another positive element that contributes to the success of this acquisition.

Price - prices on this development are from approx £82,000

 

"Thank you once again for all the help and advice through each stage of our overseas property purchases.Having been to numerous seminars regarding overseas properties, I slowly began to realise the only thing we were collecting, was countless brochures. Every company had the same sales approach, being quick to point out how amazing their property deals were.

I’m sure we aren’t the only family to experience the wave of attacks from salespeople eager to earn their next commission. Even when we suggested areas we were interested in, they generally tried to persuade us to look at areas they preferred, which were apparently the ‘next big thing’.Amazing how every single development was the area that all wise property developers would be investing in!

"I was first introduced to Sean at The World of Spain through a friend. At our first meeting we discussed where I would like to buy a property and what my budget was. I knew that I wanted to be in `real Spain` and not to be surrounded by holiday makers. I had limited funds which in turn limited my choice and at first I was surprised when he told me about some cave houses that he knew about near Granada.


  

After being presented with all the information about the cave houses, I began to realize that this was exactly what I had been looking for. They were in a stunning location, had all modern facilities ie shower, kitchen with washer, big open log burning fire in the living room, 3 bedrooms and whats more - they were cheap.

Sean organised a trip to Spain where I would meet the developer and have the opportunity to go through all the details. I was shown several caves in the area and I eventually chose a 3 bedroom and it was sold fully equipped, down to the last teaspoon! I was also taken all around the local area including nearby beauty spots, lakes and rivers bars and restaurants.I have now owned and used regularly this very unique property for just over 2 years, which I am happy to say is in the real Spain not Blackpool!

I have been fortunate to have made friends with the local people who are very welcoming and I have also enjoyed the excitement of the local festivals, the main one being in July which starts at 11pm!

I would like to think that when I retire in a few years, I would move here to live. Meeting Sean at The World of Spain made all this possible and easy."

Objectives - to locate 2 bed apartment, large terrace, peaceful & open aspect, would like top floor with elevated views, within the vicinity of the sea/beach.~

Result - purchased a top floor (of four) penthouse 2 bed apartment 10 min drive to the beach in Murcia. It is an `off plan` purchase and will be complete in time for when Barry & Jan retire.Having bought off plan they have effectively purchased at a discount and when complete the apartment will have increased in value (over the last 6 years property in this area has consistently increased in value between 10% & 15% per year).It is first line to a golf course and the large terrace will allow Barry & Jan to enjoy an outdoor living space with unobstructed Mediteranean views.

Price - prices on this development are from approx £93,000

"Wayne and I have been good mates for quite a while and we have recently been thinking about making a joint investment in a property abroad.We probably would not have been able to afford to do this though individually, so by going halves we have been able to acquire an overseas investment that we otherwise wouldn’t have.

We did not really know where to buy or who to deal with. I had been on the internet and the choice of both destination and agents was overwhelming. Another friend had recently bought an apartment in Spain and so I decided to call him and find out how he had done it. I found out that he had used The World of Spain and he told me that everything went well.We arranged a meeting with Sean to discuss our requirements.

We had a limited budget and all we really knew was that we wanted an apartment with good facilities, easy to get to and it had to be a good investment.After a couple of days Sean called to say he had found what he thought to be just right. It was a 1 bed apartment in a beautiful development with a gym, sauna, tennis, secure underground parking, 2 large pools and only a mile from the beach in Almeria.

He had documented information from the town hall which he showed us with details of major investment in this particular area in a large recreational lake, hotels, golf course and other amenities. This looked perfect.Sean arranged flights, accommodation, appointments with local banks, car hire and a collaborator to organise an inspection of the local area and the apartment etc.

We have now been using the apartment for the last year. We have enjoyed both `lads` weekends away with the mates and also holidays there with our respective families.

“After browsing through a selection of brochures and having heard about the Polaris World development we decided to find out some more information to see if it could really be possible for us to buy a property in Spain. 

It is something Andrew and I had talked about for the future and wondered if it would be possible to do now if affordable.We arranged a meeting with Sean at The World of Spain and found that his knowledge of the properties, buying procedure, costs, area and flights etc was exceptional and very valuable as he had actually visited the developments and the area on numerous occasions and he was able to show us a varied selection of his own photographs of the different areas and developments.  This made us feel very confident that the idea was possible now rather than waiting and being disappointed in the future when the prices would most definitely be higher. 

There was no pressure put on us to make a decision but after advising Sean what we would want from a holiday home he recommended that an apartment on one of the developments in Murcia would ideally suit our needs and we decided to reserve an apartment within a few days.

The World of Spain arranged an inspection trip to Murcia to check things out in more detail – again this went very smoothly.  We were collected from the airport by a representative who was very knowledgeable and who took us to numerous sites, show apartments and head office – once again there was no pressure.After the visit we were even more confident that this was a good move to make and are now very excited about proceeding with the purchase.

Sean arranged for the contract to be sent to us for signing and recommended who to use to transfer monies etc.  Again this was a very straight forward procedure.There have been questions/queries that have arisen but The World of Spain is always available and willing to help.

We will be watching the progress of the development over the next two years with great interest – Can’t wait for completion.”

"Well, we have finally done it and put down the first stage payment on our new build apartment in Murcia.Buying off plan means we can afford to buy a spacious 2 bed apartment with a large sunny terrace overlooking a beautiful golf course and lake with a swimming pool just outside our apartment.

The apartment will have beautiful unobstructed views over a golf course and even though neither of us are golfers, the whole concept, as well as the price, seemed just right for our lifestyle.

Why Murcia? you may ask, for two guys who normally holiday in Sitges, Mykanos or Ibiza. Well from a quick phone call to `The World of Spain` and speaking to Sean, we were suddenly, on a hot August day, looking around this beautiful region.The beaches of the Mar Menor are only 10 mins drive from the development and the lively cosmopolitan city of Murcia with its fantastic shops, restaurants, theatres and even a small gay scene is only 25 mins away.The small town of San Javier nearby means weekends can be spent here. Alicante is only 40 mins away giving us the choice of lots of low cost airlines.

Now all we have to do is follow the progress of the building for the next year or so and look forward to living our dream in

Spain."
